Modern researchers have come to the conclusion that systematic meditation will grant any person calmness and conciliation, while the changes will be observed even in the way of his thinking. The group of enthusiasts from Harvard medical school was able to prove this regularity, 16 people were invited to take part in the project. They were divided into two equal groups, one of which did meditation exercises during 27 minutes. It should be noted that before the experiment all volunteers went through magnetic resonance brain scanning, repeated examination was carried out on the expiry of 8 weeks. The final examination has shown that those who meditated all that time had the brain size changed, it just enlarged. The researchers found out the following regularity: the growth of “gray substance” in the hippocampus was caused just by meditation because this part is responsible for memory work, control of the human consciousness and introspection. Moreover, the researchers observed the decreased tonsil, which causes the feeling of fear and anxiety in the human consciousness. That’s why the following conclusion has been drawn: meditation skills can give a person the feeling of calmness, improve moral and physical state, and favorably tell on the intellectual and psychic features of one’s character.
